Card Con III set to welcome sporting stars and trading card creators to Farnborough this March

27 February 2025

Former Chelsea football star Claude Makélélé, world number one and former PDC Darts World Champions Luke Humphries and former World’s Strongest Man Eddie Hall will be attending this year’s premier trading card event, Card Con III, at Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre between 29-30 March 2025.

Now in its third year, Card Con is more than just another trading card event, it’s an experience for the whole family. Whether your kids are Pokémon-obsessed, sports fanatics, or just love fun activities, Card Con is a packed show with unforgettable moments for all ages. Plus under 12s can attend free and there is free visitor parking.

Card Con III promises a thrilling experience with meet-and-greets including the chance to meet Pokémon powerhouse creator PokiChloe, panel discussions, and exclusive merchandise opportunities.

This year’s event will also feature an Easter egg hunt, live box breaks and giveways  with premium card packs opened live on stage, F1 simulators and arcade games, penalty shootout, basketball and darts challenges with prizes to be won and exclusive Pokémon & sports card releases only available at Card Con .

Attendees can expect a diverse range of trading cards offerings, from rare cards in the Pokemon, Lorcana, Magic the Gathering and sports categories to exclusive pop culture memorabilia and game worn items.

Card Con is an event organized by Sports Cards Direct, one of the largest online retailers of hobby product in the UK. The event emerged from a desire to replicate the vibrant atmosphere and community spirit of the National Sports Card Show, which occurs every year in the United States and features collectors and hobbyists from all walks of life.

Adam Partington, Head of Community and Brand Engagement at Card Con said, “We’re buzzing to bring Card Con back to Farnborough again, with an incredible line-up of guests from across the worlds of sport, Pokémon, and collectibles. We’ve made sure there’s something for everyone!

“With live box breaks (people opening very premium boxes of trading cards and sports cards on stage), meet-and-greets, interactive activities, F1 racing simulators, arcade games, and amazing food options all under one roof, Card Con is much more than just a trading card show!

“And better yet, children under 12 can come free! As a parent myself I know how hard it is to find a great value family day out that doesn’t break the bank, so we invite you to Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre between 29-30 March to end the school term with a really fun weekend.”
