Read MoreFarnborough International Limited (FIL) representatives are attending the Paris Air Show this week to launch their sales and marketing initiative for the next Farnborough International Airshow. FIA 2012 promises to be the best show yet both in terms of value and opportunities for both Exhibitors and visitors. Organisers are advising companies to book now to take advantage of the early booking discount and secure the best rates and space.
Farnborough 2010 was a huge success boasting orders worth US$47bn. 1,455 Exhibitors took part and over 120,000 trade visitors attended, including 70 Delegations from 44 countries. Independent research commissioned by FIL was undertaken during the show sampling 257 Exhibitors, 1362 trade visitors and in depth interviews were conducted with 30 Exhibiting companies including primes and SME’s after the show had concluded. The results of this research have been utilised by FIL to formulate the exhibiting options for 2012, as well as to develop the new and existing features for the next show.
In response to feedback, FIL is offering a wider variety of chalet and shell scheme packages for 2012, as well as the opportunity to make a 2% saving if companies book before 31st October 2011. Packages have been developed to offer more flexible options for Exhibitors, as well all-inclusive packages to make exhibiting easier than ever before.
Among the factors influencing the decision to exhibit at a trade show is the type of audience a show can offer. Research findings highlighted excellent results indicating 40% international visitors attended FIA 2010 from 92 countries. One in five trade visitors were CEO or Company Director level, attending with the expectation of placing orders worth an average of £3.93 million. Another key finding was that opportunities for networking were important objectives for both Exhibitors and visitors. Therefore, FIL has been working hard to further develop the existing show features, which were introduced with huge success at 2010’s show - offering greater opportunity for meetings and targeted networking in key areas, such as the Space Zone, indoor UAS feature area and the MoD MEZ (MoD Engagement Zone). And each of these areas will be returning in a bigger and better way for 2012, along with the Themed Conference Programme.
FIA is known throughout the A&D industry for the quality and breadth of its military delegations programme, however this year FIL is also investing more capital and resources into a NEW and improved civil delegations programme, extending the scope of its offering in order to provide greater value and return on investment for companies taking part. Another new addition for 2012 will be the advent of an Airport Security Zone which will be located in one of the main exhibitions halls.
Shaun Ormrod, Chief Executive of FIL, said before arriving in Paris to launch FIA 2012: “We are very excited about next year’s show. Our philosophy is all about adding value for our visitors and Exhibitors, giving them more reason to spend more time at Farnborough. We have listened to what our Exhibitors have told us they want and among the new exhibiting options we are confident that there is something to suit everybody. Being that the show will once again be packed with features to offer better meeting and networking opportunities, greater scope to display and demonstrate products and services as well as an improved flying display, we believe that 2012 will be another spectacular year for Farnborough.”Ends – 20 June 2011
