Media Centre Accreditation

Accreditation

All members of the media, including all technical support will need to be accredited in order to attend the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2012 free of charge and to gain access to the onsite Media Centre during the show.

The Media Accreditation Application Process opens on 29 February 2012. There are three methods by which to apply for media accreditation:

1. ‘Fast Track’ Advance Applications (FIA 2010 accredited media only).

All media who were accredited at FIA 2010 will be eligible to apply for accreditation in advance via the Fast-Track application system from 29 February 2012.

Applicants will be sent an email containing a link to an application form that has been pre-populated with the details they submitted in 2010. Applicants are required to update these details, including uploading details of commission for the show if freelance, or proof of employment if working for a different organisation than in 2010. Once the application has been submitted it will enter our system for processing. Successful applicants will be notified by email and media passes will be mailed from 1 May. Please note the following cut-off dates for media pass mail out:

Non-UK Media – Friday 15 June 2012
UK Media – Friday 29 June 2012

Once these dates have passed, successful applicants will instead be sent a confirmation code via email which they will be required to present at the gate upon arrival at the show in order to collect their media pass.

The deadline for Fast Track applications is Friday 29 June 2012.

2. Online Advance Applications (Media who did not attend FIA 2010).

We recommend media who did not attend FIA 2010, but who wish to attend in 2012, apply for accreditation in advance from 29 February 2012 by completing the online form which can be accessed below. Advance applications will continue to be received until Friday 29 June 2012.

An individual submission and photograph will be required for each media representative, including camera/production crew. Supporting documentation by means of proof of employment and previous work will also be required for each submission.

Please note that media accreditation will only be granted to active members of the media attending the show in a news gathering capacity. Please note also that media accreditation will only be given to photographers commissioned by a news gathering agency. All advertising, marketing and sales personnel will require Exhibitor Passes (where applicable) or a Trade Visitor Pass to access FIA 2012.

To apply for media accreditation for FIA 2012 in advance online, you will require the following:

  • Personal details
  • Supporting documentation by means of uploadable or web based proof of employment for the show.
  • Supporting documentation by means of uploadable or web-based proof of work published since July 2010.
  • An active email address to activate your media pass.
  • A full colour, digital headshot photograph which should be 300 dpi, no smaller than passport sized with a maximum file size of 2MB.

Successful applicants will be notified via email and their media pass mailed to them.

3. On-the-day Applications.

There will be a limited facility for issuing media passes from the onsite Media Centre during the show itself from 9-15 July 2012. Please note however that in order to access the show site upon arrival without a media pass, you will be required to purchase a Trade Visitor Pass which is non-refundable, even if a media pass is obtained thereafter.

Any media who have purchased a Trade Visitor Pass that wish to attend subsequent days of the show without charge will be required to visit the Media Centre once onsite to apply for a media pass. There will be no ‘Fast Track’ accreditation on-the-day and the criteria detailed in Section 2 will apply to all. Supporting documentation must be presented in hard-copy at the accreditation desk.

The on-the-day accreditation process may be subject to some delays due to the busy nature of the Media Centre. We would therefore strongly recommend that media who wish to attend the show apply for accreditation in advance.
